School Run Style

We are nearly there, back to school is coming our way. Have you pledged to not be caught wearing leggings and a hoodie this year? Yes, me too!

Here are five looks that are easy to throw on in the morning and look a little elevated. I have included a look that contains leggings, because as the mornings get c

older, we might want to just throw them on, I know I do when I drop my little ones off to creche.

These looks will all take you from school drop off to work and then dinner if this is where the night takes you 7am to 9pm suitable. As a personal stylist living in Dublin, I often feel like I am going through 4 different days in 1 and I try to dress as conveniently as possible for all of them. My approach is all about feeling confident in your style and having a wardrobe that brings you joy.

Look 1

This is the perfect transitional look into Autumn, the black Birkenstock sandals are ideal as a summer piece you are keeping until the weather becomes decidedly chillier. I love pairing them with jeans. These are relaxed slim girlfriend jeans from 7 for all mankind, very soft and comfortable.

The blazer really elevates this look, Ralph Lauren are the kings of doing that cool school look.

The Vanessa Bruno sequin tote is a classic at this stage, it's a very convenient bag and it now had a zip for added practicality.

Look 2

I like a midi length dress for practicality in a wardrobe. It's so easy to dress up or down, I find it looks particularly good with a leather jacket. I like Golden Goose embellished runners, those sparkly ones are especially cool and will really lift any outfit. Of course, a little Jacquemus will never go astray in my books, especially a crossbody.

Look 3

Who can really say they never wear leggings? Having tried many brands over the years, I must say I am a big fan of Sweaty Betty, this pair of All Day is embossed and features a leopard print, which makes it a little cooler to go about your day, I like pairing leggings with a tweed blazer to dress them up a bit, a plain blazer would not work well. Those Adidas Stan Smith runners look better than sportier pairs too. The bucket bag by Leo & Violette is a great size for all your day's needs.

Look 4

I love Begley and Howie's sweatshirts, such a cool Irish brand. I have paired this sweatshirt with ecru jeans and those colourful Rag & Bone runners. I love this new Jerome Dreyfuss tote for everything you may need during the day, this is a roomy bag which is ideal on those days when you need to bring a laptop and perhaps a change of clothes or carry an extra jacket.

Look 5

I really like a khaki quilted jacket when the days get a little chillier, I find they look less classical and drab than their navy alternative. The satin slip skirt is still as big as this summer and they will work well with ankle boots and no tights this autumn. I have paired it with a chambray shirt for a more relaxed look. I love this Heimstone mini bag that will hold your keys, phone and wallet.
